You will complete your White card course in one day, The unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is included in many qualifications within Training Packages. Therefore, a statement of attainment for this units can be used as credit for a range of qualifications. Throughout this day our trainers will provide you with the knowledge and skills to obtain a NSW Competency Certificate.
This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
Class sessions are planned to ensure that students have a mixture of practical and theoretical components and those classes cater for a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills based assessments in accordance with unit requirements.
